Thanks guys... I got tired of some of the other forums with the 13 & 14 year olds fighting over who the best drummer was. Those kids are just into the Travis Barker arguments and who's got the fastest double pedal. So nice to read about great drummers and have an intelligent discussion instead of F this and F that.Clint... I'm in the middle of remodeling my basement so when I get the new carpet in and all completed I'll post some new pics. BTW all the mirrors are for posture. As I said before after my spinal cord surgery my head droops forward and I don't realize it anymore. So I try to hold up my head and the mirrors help me to keep an eye on it.
Five... when I get down on myself and don't feel like playing I pop in the Back to Basics or The Next Step and it gets me going again.
Poor ol' Dave & Vinnie. Sometimes they catch almost as much **** as they do praise.
I hope someday to be half the player as either of these 2 gentlemen...so that i can be worthy of taking some of the same **** too. /;-))

Well, conceivably, many [or any] number of groupings can be sandwiched into another grouping of a specific number using a different pulsed-grouping within...it just has to be "evened" out [pardon the pun] or ante'd up/worked out mathematically...Virg, Rick Gratton, VC, to name but a few, can do this type of stuff. I'm sure Hass or Michaud, etc can AW. [I can a bit of it myself...but pls, i don't mean to sound like i'm tooting a horn here.]
You can make a group of 7 occupy a group of 4...or there's 6/4/4, 3/5/8, 3/4/8, 4/6/8, 3/2/4, 5/4/8, 3/4/16, etc [top #, or the equivalent, within whatever sig is designated by the next 2 #s].
I think that perhaps this should be given a different [new] thread... /;-)

I can't wait to see those pics. I need to utilize the space of my room more. It's and unorganized pile of books and music. I like to think I'm a mad scientist though and cleaning up would just tame me.
BTW I watched both BTB and NS a couple nights ago. I still get as much inspiration from them as I do any of his later stuff.

I love pretty much everything that Daves recorded on. Don't have anything negative to say as I would say the backstreet boys or NWA. Not alot of imagination there.
Although I think the "writing" credit goes to Chick Corea, Eye of the Beholder being my fav. But then I think if you asked Dave, I think he'd be in agreement that Chick is an amazing player/writer.
Wow, a lot of stuff being posted here.
Truth is, I've kind of wanted to open the site up a bit. Well, it HAS opened up to other guys we dig; Virgil, Jeff Tain, Smith, whatever. I just want to say so. I would like to get away from JUST being about 2 guys.
